Built with stone, leaves, teak wood and trunks of palm trees, the Coins Museum spans two floors and gives visitors the opportunity to see more than 470 rare coins dating back to different historical areas. Coins are displayed in special cabinets with magnifying screens allowing a closer look and touch screens providing detailed information about each coin, ranging from the different shapes to types of metals used and methods and dates of minting. Plus, visitors can get acquainted with the close link between the monetary system of the British Empire, India and countries in the region. Entry is free. The museum is open from 8am to 2pm from Sunday to Thursday.
