Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House

Built in 1896 on the banks of Dubai Creek, this was the home of the ruling family until 1958. An architectural marvel, the building is now a museum with a unique collection of photographs showing Dubai, its souks and traditional celebrations since the 1940s as well as a pearl diving display. Admission is Dhs 3. The museum is open from 8am to 8.30pm from Saturday to Thursday and from 3pm to 9.30pm on Fridays. Location: Al Shindagha area, Bur Dubai. Call 04-3937139.
