Updated on 06 March 2024

To celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Museum of the Future, situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, is hosting a special 3-day event called Ramadan Majlis Nights. In collaboration with Dubai Future Labs, a research lab dedicated to advancing robotics and AI, this event will feature a series of dialogue sessions throughout Ramadan. The sessions, titled 'Threads of Virtue: Integrating Islamic Principles into Future Innovations', will concentrate on how Islamic traditions influence modern scientific progress and policy development.

Held over three evenings during Ramadan, this event will showcase speakers and experts from diverse future-focused domains, including global academics and influential figures from the UAE. Collaboratively, they will delve into how Islamic values can influence and direct the course of innovation and research, highlighting technology and digital advancement.

Schedule For Ramadan Majlis Nights

The first session of Ramadan Majlis Nights take place on 16 March 2024, focusing on incorporating Islamic ethical values into contemporary scientific and technological research. This session delves into the balance between advancement and moral duty, leveraging insights from Islamic scholars in science and philosophy. Dr. Roy Casagranda from Austin Community College, USA, and Dr. Mohamed Qasem, Dean of the Dubai Future Academy, will be featured speakers.

In the second session on Saturday, 23 March, the focus will be on the connection between sustainability, the environment, ethical responsibility, and the future through an Islamic lens.

Dr. Reema Misbah Al Qaruty, a Professor at the University of Dubai, and Professor Odeh Al-Jayyousi, Professor of Innovation Policy at Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, will participate. Manal Bahman, the Chief Operations Officer at Emirates Nature-WWF and esteemed Advisory Board Member at Sorbonne University's Geography and Planning Department, will join the discussion.

On Saturday, 30 March, the third session will tackle the significance of technology and digital evolution in promoting sustainable growth. It will also reflect on the influence of advanced technology on communities worldwide. Dr Abdallah Rothman, a respected scholar and counsellor known for merging Islamic spirituality with modern technology, will co-host alongside Awad Bin Hasoum Al Darmaki, an author, poet, and scholar.
