Dubai is welcoming Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon with style and excitement, featuring numerous deals and offers. To honour the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon, the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has introduced a variety of thrilling events, entertaining attractions, and retail specials happening throughout the city this week. 

Aerial Displays And Fireworks 

The Burj Al Arab will showcase a spectacular drone show on 10 February, where approximately 1,600-1,800 drones will illuminate the sky, creating a 300-metre-long Chinese dragon at 7.30pm. And on 11 February, Dubai Festival City Mall will host a dazzling fireworks show at 9pm.

Festive Gallore At Dubai's Theme Parks 

Residents and tourists can dive into the celebrations of Chinese New Year at IMG Worlds of Adventure. The theme park will feature daily shows until 20 February, including dances, a dragon parade, and magic performances. Visitors can also enjoy lion and dragon dances and the Wheel of Fortune on weekends.

At Legoland Dubai, Factory Street will be transformed into a lively hub for Chinese New Year, with lanterns, music, and lights. Families can even opt for a Chinese New Year sleepover at Legoland Hotel Dubai. 

Riverland Dubai will be alive with energetic street performances for Chinese New Year, showcasing traditional lion and dragon dances and acrobatic shows.

For blockbuster-style entertainment, Motiongate Dubai offers the chance to join Po from Kung Fu Panda at the Kung Fu Panda Academy show, where both kids and adults can learn Kung Fu alongside the beloved characters.

Festive Dining and Stays:

  • Foodies are invited to enjoy a festive meal at Sui Mui, located at The Westin Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, with a curated Chinese New Year menu. Festivities include a Chinese New Year-inspired buffet on 11 February and a special à la carte menu available from 12 to 15  February. 
  • Families and friends can enjoy a special dinner buffet at Liwan Terrace, Swissotel Al Ghurair, featuring live grill options and a delicious selection of Asian delights. The buffet is priced at Dhs 129 for adults, Dhs 65 for children aged 6 to 12, and complimentary for children below 6 years old.
  • Guests can indulge in exceptional dining experiences with an exclusive Dhs 300 credit to use at one of SLS Dubai's various dining outlets when booking a stay in any room category.
  • Families can celebrate the season with a delightful meal at Le Méridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre, where children under 12 can stay for free when sharing a room with adults.
