Al Fahidi Fort and Dubai Museum
Updated on 13 September 2017

Dating back to 1787, Al Fahidi Fort was once the premises of the monarch and a fort of defence and has since been an arsenal for artillery and weapons and a prison. In 1971 (the year the federation was formed), it opened as a museum that provides a fascinating insight into Dubai’s history. In 1995, an underground museum was established and added to the fort. Rare authentic monuments and antiques are scattered in different wings of the museum. Tickets are priced at Dhs 3 for adults and Dhs 1 for children under the age of six. Open from 2.30pm to 8.30pm on Fridays and from 8.30am to 8.30pm during the week. Location:  Al Fahidi area, Bur Dubai.
Call 04-3531862.
