Affordable taxi service on trial basis in Dubai
Updated on 18 April 2017

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Uber have announced the trial of an economy offering 'uberX' that will provide customers in Dubai safe and affordable rides. The new initiative comes after a partnership agreement between the RTA and Uber to study new options to support Dubai Plan 2021. The trial period will run for three months only. The uberX has been priced lower than the current UberSELECT while offering the same service and convenience. The newly introduced uberX will have a base fare of Dhs 5, Dhs 1.37 per km, and Dhs 0.4 per minute.
