Guinness World Records title broken in Dubai
Updated on 10 April 2017

Guinness World Records has confirmed that the title for the ‘Largest Stencil’ has been broken for the very first time in Dubai at the Middle East Film and Comic Con. The region’s biggest pop culture convention has partnered with the Guinness World Records for the first time, which took place from the 6th to 8th April 2017.

The record attempt, that took place over the three days of MEFCC, was broken through a collaborative effort between Iconix, an online emporium offering a wide range of art in the UAE, ProWalls;  a commission of international artists with a focus on community art and UAE Graffiti Team a group of local contemporary artists who have partnered with ProWalls to produce this artwork. The collaborative artwork resulted in the production of an 11.13 sq m stencil artwork, which was put together by four artists from ProWalls and two members of the UAE Graffiti group.

This is not the first time ProWalls has been involved in breaking a Guinness World Records title. In 2014, ProWalls was involved in creating the Guinness World Records title for the  ‘Largest graffiti scroll’ and again in 2016 when they participated in creating the ‘Largest glow in the dark painting’.
