5 places to have steak tonight
Updated on 06 August 2017

Let’s make something clear. If you’re a vegetarian, this list isn’t for you. But, if you’re a carnivore…here are some places you’re going to love!

1. The City Grill

Labelling themselves a ‘carnivore’s choice’, this South African restaurant at The Atrium (Al Habtoor City) prides itself on being able to offer diners a generous selection of premium beef served with intense flavours. The South African prime ribs are highly recommended, though service staff are more than capable of making suggestions to suit your palate. Open from 5pm to 2am. Call 04-4370088.

2. The Rib Room

Be it a flavourful Chateaubriand or an Oakey Angus Reserve Tenderloin, you can be assured it will be prepared with equal flair. Guests of this fine dining restaurant at Jumeirah Emirates Towers can even have their steak knives engraved with their names and displayed in the restaurant as a reminder of their flawless dining experience. Open from 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 11.15pm. Call 04-3198741.

3. Hunters Room & Grill

Putting a modern take on the traditional steakhouse, Hunters Room and Grill at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi is known for its minimalist décor, open kitchen and no-frills atmosphere. If you’re after a quiet dining experience, this place won’t disappoint. Expect damn good food - bone-in ribeye with a side of truffle fries to be precise. Open from 6pm to 10.30pm. Call 04-5117373.

4. West 14th Steakhouse

You’ve got two options for everything at this Oceana Beach Club restaurant - you can either sit in a jazz club like setting indoors or overlooking the horizon pool outdoors and you can choose between the prime cuts or butcher’s choice. If you’re not one to experiment and prefer the tried and tested route, the tenderloin cut of the 450-day grain-fed Australian wagyu is ace. Open from 11am to 11pm. Call 04-4477601.

5. JW’s Steakhouse

A firm favourite with long-time residents, this award-winning steakhouse located in old Dubai resembles a gentlemen’s lounge with its oversized armchairs and mahogany bar. Touted as JW Marriott Dubai’s star, the restaurant’s recommended options are the steak of the month or the premium Japanese Wagyu, but the wagyu sirloin is just as good. Don’t forget the side of mashed potatoes served with a hint of garlic. Open from 6pm to 11.30pm. Call 04-6077977.
