Why Wearing A Mask Is Important
Updated on 02 June 2020

The Ministry of Health and Prevention, (MoHAP) has issued some brief advice on the benefits of wearing masks and the type of masks to use.

In a tweet on its official twitter feed, MoHAP reiterated that "covering your mouth and nose with a mask when leaving home is a necessary precaution to protect your respiratory system from COVID-19 infection."

The post also gave details of how the different types of mask work. It states that the N95 mask filters the air and stops small contaminated particles getting into the mouth and nose and provides 95% protection, and the surgical mask, though doesn't filter the small particles like the N95 mask, it is effective in preventing larger contaminated particles form passing though.
