Business Activity Resumes In Dubai

Following a virtual meeting of Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management chaired by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, it has been announced that business activities in Dubai will resume from Wednesday 27 May. 

From Wednesday, business activities will resume between 6am and 11pm, where between these hours there will also be no restrictions on movement.  

In a post on Twitter, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan stated "I chaired a meeting with Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis & Disaster Management, & we approved the resumption of economic activities from 6am to 11pm, starting May 27. This decision was reached following a comprehensive analysis of health and socio-economic factors of the situation account"

Activities and services that will resume from Wednesday 27 May include:

  • Retail and wholesale
  • Airport, operating for returning UAE residents and transit passengers after authorities approval
  • Clinics, including ENT and dentistry
  • Educational training institutes, and child learning and therapy centres
  • Sports academies, indoor gyms, sports and fitness clubs
  • Cinemas
  • Entertainment and leisure attractions such as Dubai Ice Rink and Dolphinarium 
  • Auctions
  • Outsourced government service centres

General rules are still in place to contain the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 including:

  • Maintaining a social distance of at least 2 metres
  • Masks must be worn ar all times
  • Sterilisation must be carried out continuously
  • Children under 12 years old and adults over 60, along with people with chronic diseases and prone to infection cannot enter malls, cinemas, sports facilities and educational institutes.
