Friday proved to be an extra-ordinary day for the UAE as the national team made it through to the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup, 2019. For one supporter in particular it proved even more special, as a video of her supporting the team and showing her kissing the UAE national flag has gone viral.

The passionate gesture of this football fan won her a surprise meeting with none other than His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who not only commended her for her enthusiastic support of the national team but also presented her with a signed copy of his latest book, Qissati.

The girl, who originates form Iraq, was also told by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed that "This country is your country too."
